First, we appreciated the willingness of Bayeux Shuttle to customize the tour to our desires. Mainly, though, we can’t say enough good things about Roma or think of anything that could have made the experience any better. She was a true delight: friendly, funny, and extremely knowledgeable about the subject. She was patient and willing to answer our many questions, and her English was perfect. She made everything very interesting, explained things thoroughly and in a way that was easy to relate to, and used visual aids frequently to make complex explanations easier to understand. Finally, she knew that we wanted to be at the Normandy American Cemetery by 4PM for the flag ceremony, and she was very conscious of keeping us on schedule so that we would be there in plenty of time. Expérience fantastique: My family of 5 (4 adults and 1 -8y.o.) did the full day, American D-Day Tour from the train station. Let me start with... this is a LONG day round trip from Paris, and we were a tad underprepared (bring snacks). Marie was our guide and she was absolutely stellar. She was incredibly knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Marie was also patient with our sometimes hangry crew. She provided wonderful recommendations for our stops/free time and filled in the driving gaps with informative information and little quizzes. With such a somber topic and a kiddo onboard, Marie kept things flexible, lighthearted and did a phenomenal job. I originally booked this trip for my father, and I ended up learning so much. I would highly recommend this tour - ask for Marie!

Expérience fantastique: This was a great day trip for my son and I from our 8 day family trip to Paris. If you are looking for a day away from the city life of Paris, and enjoy US history and meaningful sites, take a mid morning train from Paris to Bayeux and book the afternoon trip to Omaha Beach with Noemie. Make sure to spend at least an hour in Bayeux and then meet Noemie who will drive you to all of the sites and knows the timing of when to go to the cemetery, the bunkers and the beach itself and was verse in the history of the landings. I highly recommend this trip and Noemie as your guide.

Expérience fantastique: I live in France and have taken friends and family to Normandy for the D-Day tour three times. The tour that we had 2 weeks ago was outstanding. I have had two different guides from Bayeux Shuttles. Both were excellent. The thing that I loved the most was that they were knowledgeable enough to answer our questions and keep us engaged to make the tour a most memorable event. I will be using them in the future and will not hesitate to recommend them to folks that I know that are visiting Normandy.

Expérience fantastique: Couldn't recommend this tour enough. Great tour, well worth what we paid! Did the 4-hr afternoon tour, which was timed perfectly as we arrived to the US Cemetery right before taps was played. Had 20-35 mins of free time at each stop, depending on where we were at. Advertised as small groups, I think up to 20, ours ended up being 4 + the guide so it was very intimate. Guide had photos and charts to help explain things and plenty of information for us to take in.

Expérience fantastique: Naomi was our guide for this informative, emotional tour. She picked us up at our hotel and upon learning our tight timetable ( because of evening flight) helped structure our excursion so we could spend time at each stop and return on time. I told her that because of her knowledge she provide us with pieces of a puzzle and helped us solve it in such a way that even history buffs learned new details as we at the end could look back and see the completed puzzle . Between her photos and significant knowledge she helped us gain new understandings of how D Day was prepared for and implemented. And how when things didn’t go to plan the backup plans and people stepping up made D Day a hard fought success. Highly recommend this tour and Naomi was a wonderful guide.

She is an excellent communicator and thoroughly knows history of the area. Tour participants represented an age gap of over 50 years, and Noemie capably explained sites, engaging all. We highly recommend Noemie as a guide.

Expérience fantastique: I found this tour company thru Viator but booked directly with the company website. It saved some money on my end and still included a good cancellation policy. We did a full day American D-Day tour with Charles (8:45am-5:15pm). The van was very new & modern with nice leather seats and good air conditioning. Charles was an excellent tour guide. I was so impressed with his deep knowledge and presentation skills. He is French but speaks clear English, I could understand him very well. He was a good, safe driver! The tour went to Omaha Beach, Utah Beach, Pointe du Hoc, St Mere Eglise, and included a ticket to the Airborne Museum. The stop for lunch was in St Mere Eglise which had many good options for a quick lunch! I highly recommend this tour company.

The van was spacious for 7 of us. The town visit before and after the tour was great too…beautiful town with great pubs and restaurants. Would go back. The photo is from a bunker. What an amazing and historical visit full of information and free time.

Our tour guide was NOÉMIE, she was extremely well prepared and knowledgeable about the landing sites, troop movements, beach defenses and fortifications. She had a big book of both color coded maps, photos of what the defenses looked like. Im a huge history buff and I was impressed on how well prepared she was. We had plenty of time to see and explore all the sites. She even took the time to answer questions not related to the tour about the Airborne landings. One thing I will mention is the Pointe Du Hoc area has all been fenced with the exception of the observatory, and troop barracks. This is done by the government and in noway detracts from the tour. We enjoyed the tour very much. 5 stars all the way.

Expérience fantastique: Romarine, "Roma" was absolutely fantastic!! We booked a full day private tour of WWII sites and it was the only way to go! I've been to the area once before years ago but this experience was amazing. Roma was energetic, tremendously knowledgeable, had facts and fun snippets and made the day exactly what we wanted and needed. On top of everything, she picked the perfect spots AND timing to avoid huge crowds making it even more personal. HIGHLY recommend Bayeux Shuttle and ask for Roma!!

Visiting the D-Day sites in Normandy was at the top of our travel wish list and our private full-day tour with Morgane was exactly the experience we sought when making our reservations. The beautiful Normandy region and Morgane did not disappoint. Morgane made the tour come alive with interesting and little known facts, statistics, and history all blended together in wonderful and memorable story telling. The day was well planned and organized. We saw everything we wanted and then some, and Morgane happily and easily adjusted the schedule to meet our interests so it felt like it was our day, not time spent on a routine tour being rushed around to meet deadlines. We highly recommend Bayeux Shuttle and Morgane in particular as a guide. We must never forget the sacrifices made and humanity demonstrated against the backdrop of such a bold and daring place to restore freedom and liberty - the highest cost paid by the few to benefit the many. Expérience fantastique: We did the half-day tour of Pointe du Huc, Omaha Beach and the American Cemetery. The tour was very informative and enjoyable. Roma, our guide was a joy to be with. Her fun, friendly engaging nature made all of us feel very welcome. There was 8 on our tour. Our vehicle was what she said they affectionately refer to as the “Panzer”, it was a very large Mercedes tourist van with lots of headroom and huge windows for viewing the beautiful countryside.

Expérience fantastique: Our half day tour with Romarine and six other guests was great. "Roma" was an excellent guide and we learned so much about the area and the events of June 6. The large comfortable vehicle provided great views and was easy to get in and out of at each stop. We also appreciated being able to explore a bit on our own at each stop. We parked at Charles de Gaulle square for free and walked about 10 minutes through the cute town, past the cathedral, to the parking lot for our tour. There is a single public toilet at the place where you pick up the tour. After the tour there was a great restaurant Le Garde Manger a block away.

You really need a guide like Marie to take you from place to place, to give you all of the details of the events and the stories of people there that day. As she drove she gave us information about what we'd see next. At each site she walked us where we needed to go, told us what to see/look for and then gave us time to explore. This day in Normandy and our tour with Marie was a highlight of our trip to France. Highly recommend Bayeux Shuttle!

Expérience fantastique: The In-Depth D-Day Tour was absolutely fantastic and our guide (Jordan) was incredibly knowledgeable. The group size wasn’t too big (about a dozen people) so it felt intimate and personal. The tour took us to Omaha Beach, the American Cemetery, Point-du-Hoc, Sainte-Mere-Eglise and the Airborne Museum, Utah Beach, and finished with an incredible story about two medics in Angoville-Au-Plain. Jordan taught us about the big picture while also telling personal stories from individual soldiers that I’d never heard before. The only thing I’d change is having a little more time at the Airborne Museum, but that’s because there’s so much to see it’s hard to get through all of it as part of a tour. If I’m ever back in Normandy, I’d take this tour again — especially if Jordan was the guide!

Expérience fantastique: I booked a shuttle to Mount Saint-Michel and a WWII Tour with the company and everything was great. The meet up is clearly designated and has a public bathroom on the corner. It is also easily linked from Google Maps. The trip to Saint-Michel was with Jean Pierre, amazing and fun driver//guide. (I tried to call you but I think I wrote the number down wrong) The WW2 Tour was with Charles who was impeccable in the details, photos, driving, and knowledge. Thank you! Expérience fantastique: I was lucky enough to join the Normandy American D-Day Experience tour today with Pascal. Pascal was an incredible guide and driver. He expertly balanced entertainment and humour with the poignancy deserved by the sites that we visited. Pascal's passion for history and the region shone through, and it made the experience a highlight of my time in Europe. I truly believe this tour may not have been as enjoyable had Pascal not been our guide. As the group's requirements allowed it, he timed our arrival at the American cemetary for the end of the day to witness the flag lowering and playing of Taps, a truly powerful way to conclude the day. Overall I wish I was in Bayeux longer to enjoy more tours from this company and learn even more about the amazing history of this area.

Expérience fantastique: My husband and I took the “American D-Day Experience Full Day Group Tour “ with Bayeux Shuttle. It was a fantastic and rewarding experience! It’s a great way to visit the must-see Omaha Beach and Utah Beach Sectors along the Normandy coast. Our tour guide, Charles, gave us a very interesting and educational commentary while on the bus and as well as with visuals at every stop during the day. He was quite knowledgeable, passionate and was English fluent. We can say that we obtained a greater insight into the timeline of events for WWII and D-Day. The small coach bus (max 20 clients) was very comfortable. Some of the stops included the American Cemetery, Utah and Omaha Beaches as well as Pointe du Hoc. Along the way, we stopped in Sainte-Mer-Eglise for a quick lunch from Boulangerie Pastisserie Angietel (purchased a sandwich and ate in the park) and toured the Airborne Museum (entry fee included). We felt that we had enough time at each stop and would definitely do a different tour with Bayeux Shuttle if in the area again. We highly recommend this tour!

Expérience fantastique: We had a party of 6 take a private tour with Roma and had a fantastic time. She was so passionate that her storytelling had us all leaning in to listen to every word. We could never have understood the gravity and dire conditions that the boys went through on D-Day without expert knowledge provided by Roma. Having a guide while you travel thru Normandy war sites is highly recommended

Expérience fantastique: This was an 8 hour trip where we got to see many of the American Normandy landing/drop sites, monuments and cemetaries related to D-Day, including timeline and preparation prior to the amphibious assault. Our guide was Rethro who was a very experienced, English-fluent and charismatic tour guide. The tour with him was very educational, passionate and entertaining. He is a great guide! Would recommend to anyone wanting to take advantage of visiting Normandy and learning more about it's WWII history.

We did a full day with our 9 year old and it did not feel like a 9 hour tour. We could have gone for several more hours. Jordan was incredibly knowledgable and engaging. Expérience négative: Our guide was a lovely young girl but a very inexperienced intern. Our complaint is not with the guide; she was trying her best. Our complaint is with the company for sending someone with so little experience out on such a demanding and significant full day tour. We had planned much of our trip to this part of France around this full day experience and at quite a significant cost. We were very unimpressed and feel quite cheated of an experience that we had so anticipated and looked forward to. I would advise people to ask about the experience level of their guide BEFORE making any commitment to a booking.

Expérience fantastique: Bayeux Shuttles have helped me host family in France for the past two summers. We did the D-day beaches tour both times. Jordan made it a trip of a lifetime for both groups. The private tour this summer was particularly special. I wanted to make sure that family had a trip of a lifetime. Jordan shared this goal. I was worried about the the details (like lunch). I need not have worried. Jordan had lunch sorted out, adjusted the tour to meet our train schedule and did tours that will be talked about in our family for years to come.

Her personality just comes alive when she talks about history in general! She was very kind and friendly as she enlightened us for 8 hours, never tiring from our questions and conversation. We also used Morgane a second day to take us to Mont St Michel. She drove us to the island and guided us through the abbey. I wish there was a Morgane in every city we visit! She definitely seems more like a friend than a tour guide to us!

Expérience fantastique: We did two trips with Bayeux Shuttle this week. One to Mont Saint Michel and then the American D-Day 8 hour tour. The two trips are completely different from each other. Mont Saint Michel is a shuttle ride from Bayeux to the parking shuttle lot. Our guide Juliette, drove us there in a comfortable 9 passenger van. We could have done it cheaper by renting a car, but it was so easy and no hassle. She knew exactly where to go and walked us to the bathrooms and rode with us on the bus to the walk off point. We had three hours at the Mont, which is enough time to explore but not dive deep. We made it to the top of the Abbey... lots of stairs, and rested on the drive back. We left about 8 and were home by 315. The American D-Day tour was a great opportunity to get familiar with the sites. Camille took us on this tour, and she was knowledgeable and gave us time to explore at the different sites. My favorite was the American Cemetery. At the lunch stop you have time for the museum and to eat. If you like museums, make sure to go there first. We were the only ones in our group that saw the whole museum, but we didn't have time for lunch. We thought this might be the case and brought croissants with us for a snack. One of the best things about the trip was the large historic sources that Camille pointed things out on. Sometimes, it was a map, other times a photo, and other times a picture of people who fought at that place. We liked the Ameican aspect of the tour that let us focus on what our countrymen did on June 6,1944. Camille worked to make the trip personal, and we enjoyed the trip. An example of that was our stop at Angoville au Plain, where two young American medics risked their lives to save men from both sides, along with the village and community that was invaded. We will remember the story Kenneth Moore and Robert Wright.

Expérience fantastique: We recently did a day trip from Paris, which wasn't a lot of time to appreciate all of the history in the region but we're very happy that we went with Bayeux Shuttle to make the most of the time we had in Normandy. Charles was outstanding - he has a tremendous amount of knowledge about the history of the region and he tailored the experience for my family. The beaches today are beautiful and it's hard to reconcile that with the unimaginable carnage that occurred there within a single lifetime. Thanks so much to Charles, we could not have asked for a better guide to experience this important part of history.

Charles was an excellent and knowledgeable guide, and the private tour allowed him to customize some of the experience to fit our interests. Expérience fantastique: We just completed a full day American Tour of D-day on the 79th anniversary with our guide Jordan, who was phenomenal. Jordan was able to provide context and information that was unique to the area and just things you wouldn't get to experience or know from any books or movies. I felt as though he was really able to bring the experience of soldiers back to life. He did an amazing job navigating his way through all the business so we were able to still see all the monuments and places on our tour. You could tell he has an appreciation and passion for this. Highly recommend the full day tour.

Expérience fantastique: This tour was excellent in part because of our guide, Pascal! He was so knowledgeable! We felt like we were back on the beaches on D-Day. At every stop he would explain the significance and then add anecdotes. He was fantastic! The company was right on point, sending us all the information we needed to get to our meeting point ahead of time. We also received an email from Pascal a week before the tour introducing himself and sending his contact information in case we needed to get a hold of him the day of the tour. If you are visiting the Normandy region, you definitely should be getting a tour guide to get the most out of your visit. Bayeux Shuttle needs to be your touring company and if you are lucky enough to get Pascal for a tour guide, your day will be well worth it!

Expérience fantastique: Just returned from Normandy and had a great experience with Bayeux Shuttle. From the moment of booking, communication was great. Pascal, our guide, was lively, funny and obviously very knowledgeable on WWII history. One minor comment - Bayeux Shuttle could warn those driving to the meeting spot that there isn't whole day parking. There is parking at Place de Quebec but for a maximum of 4 hours. Pascal was kind to lead me to the nearby train station parking (which is free) and pick me up from there. All in all, a worthwhile experience and Bayeux Shuttle is the tour guide to sign up with if you want the D-Day experience.

Fred was incredibly interesting and so knowledgeable about the area, delivering the information in a very engaging way and tailoring the experience to our interests. A must!

He prepared and shared personal stories from men and women in serving D Day event. He made sure when we visited American Cemetery that we heard Taps play as US Flags were lowered. He was very insightful and brought a lot of knowledge (and humor) to our afternoon tour through Normandy, Omaha Beach, and the American Cemetery. We took the train in from Paris and it was only a five-minute walk to the pickup point. After the tour was over, our guide was gracious enough to even drop us off at the train station. In all, we highly recommend this tour agency.

Jordan (from Bayeux Shuttle) was an excellent guide, sharing not just the major points and challenges of the D-Day invasion, but also stories about specific individuals and events that really added to the experience. The pickup location was convenient and easy, transportation was top notch, the perfect amount of information and time was presented at each location visited, and most importantly the folks at Bayeux Shuttle are truly passionate about the history of D-Day and WWII. We loved every minute of our tour and want everyone to have the same experience we had!

Expérience fantastique: We did the full day American tour back in September 2019, and we highly recommend it! Like others, it made more sense (and would be way more organized) to take a guided tour, rather than trying to plan out our individual tour. The tour was one of our favorite experiences of our 2 week trip around France! Make sure you stay in Bayeux. It is so pretty, and it is one of our favorite towns now. Only recommendation we have is to make the time at Utah Beach longer. We had so much extra time at Omaha Beach and the cemetery, but not nearly long enough at Utah Beach. We were also extremely disappointed that we could not enter the cemetery sections to view the graves. Our tour guide gave us maps of "famous headstones," but all of them were too far into the sections (where we couldn't see them from the side). This is not Bayeux Shuttle's fault, but it's another reason we think the Utah Beach section should have been longer. Lastly, the next day we did a shuttle to Mont St Michel with Pascal. Pascal was hilarious and a really enjoyable shuttle driver. Mont St Michel was breathtaking, but you could tell the amount of steps really wore out the whole shuttle group! Almost everyone napped on the way back, ha.

Expérience fantastique: Jon Fletcher was the most amazing guide. This man is a true history book! He has researched and studied the history of the area, the war and the hero’s. I learned more from him than I ever thought I could learn from a guide. I listened to other guides giving the same tour, and was so thrilled to have gotten him. Worth every penny and every minute!

Expérience fantastique: On September 3, 2019, four of us went on a full day tour with John as our guide. I give both Bayeux Shuttle and John 5 stars. We were picked up on time from the meeting point. The van was very clean and comfortable. I enjoyed the visual aide provided during short parts of the drive, which I felt was informative, concise, and very well selected. John seems to have a photographic memory and is a wealth of information. We were given ample time to tour the sites we visited, first with John’s guidance and then with free time at each place. It was every bit the once in a lifetime experience I imagined it would be. Paying our respects to such a historically significant place and to our brave heroes was an honor and an unforgettable experience. Bayeux Shuttle made it possible with a flawless tour. Thank you.

Our guide Patrick was also helpful in suggesting popular routes to take in the short amount of time we had. Would have hoped to take part in the full day tour because the half day tour felt too tight.

Expérience fantastique: Our family came to Paris on a trip, one of my husband's requests was we make our way to Normandy for a tour. Our two girls (9 and 14) and I sighed but obliged. I was in charge of finding all of our tours, I did an extensive amount of research and found Bayeux Shuttle. We booked the tour based on the amazing reviews and we were not disappointed. We did the full day tour from Paris with Nick. I booked our train based on the links on the website and Nick met us right at the train station in Bayeux. He was knowledgable, personable, and funny throughout the day. All four of us enjoyed our day and learned new things.

She helped us view the history through the eyes of the people who were there. We were with her for over 8 hours, and the time flew by. Her passion made the tour well worth the time and money. He was witty, personable, and informative. He went above and beyond my expectations at every turn. I'd definitely recommend Bayeux Shuttle and Patrick to anyone coming to the area. Expérience fantastique: We did a private tour May 2019 with 6 people with Matt Turner as our guide. It was phenomenal! He has a great itinerary he takes you through and brings the historical events to life with his obvious passion for and deep knowledge of the subject. He even held my kids’ interest who were suspect of a battlefield trip. It was really special. I can’t recommend Bayeux Shuttle enough (because of Matt’s excellence).
