Expérience positive: We had a wonderful time in Provance. We booked through an agency in Ireland I believe and they were very helpful. November is a definite off season and it showed in how quiet it was everywhere. A number of hotels were not open and we had to be shuttled most days either to or from our walk and even both ways. That was a drawback as we were short on time at the end of each day and had to get up early to catch a ride. We opted for the better class of hotels and again because of the off season we only had 1 great hotel and the others were just fine but basic in what they offered. All had friendly staff and delicious breakfast. I would not pay extra again for a better hotel as all we did was sleep there. It's listed as walking but we call it hiking. Nothing scary or super tough but 5-7 hours up and down every day is quite a trek. We'll definitely come back to do more

Expérience positive: We have enjoyed a self guided bike trip inProvence, from Vaison la Romaine to Ste Marie du Mer. Overall the trip was excellent. The carbon road bikes ( Cannondale synapse) were great, well fit and well tuned. We had one flat the last day , not bad for 650 kmcombined! We chose simple level accommodation- quality was variable some perfect, some 2/5 substandard. When I commented on the poor place I was met with “ you should have chosen higher level”. Disappointing response. The written direction booklets were great- the Garmin maps did not concur at all,and often misled- very frustrating for the one who had gone to the trouble of buying a new specific sd card ... The trip was well designed- the villages chosen were fabulous, each unique and full of character. Overall very good trip. I was surprised to have had no contact by the WalkInn staff on arrival or during the trip- no check into see how it was going, and lack of interest in the poorer quality accommodation. However everything very ran well, the luggage always arrived,and on time. The bikes were delivered and picked up on time . The staff at the BnBs were excellent, friendly and accommodating.

Expérience positive: We did a self guided trip from Vaison-la-Romaine to Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer. Great road bikes. Written directions were well done. Garmin maps they sent did not match the written directions and on one day were totally incorrect (they sent the hybrid directions instead of road) We requested 3* accommodations. We’re booked in 2*. In two locations. Upgraded at our own cost in the second location. Tour company never checked in with us during the trip to see how things were going. Probably better to book your own hotels, bikes, and arrange baggage transfer on your own.
